Subject: Doctorados y Maestrías en Max Planck de Informática
Hola,

La siquiente información me acaba de llegar:

---

The International Max Planck Research School for Computer Science in Saarbrücken

The International Max Planck Research School for Computer Science
(IMPRS-CS) is a graduate school jointly run by the Max Planck
Institute for Informatics (MPI-INF), the Max Planck Institute for
Software Systems (MPI-SWS), and the Computer Science Department at
Saarland University.
MPI-INF and MPI-SWS are among 80 institutes (MPIs) of the Max Planck
Society. The MPIs are Germany's prime research facilities with
world-class, foundational research in the fields of medicine, biology,
chemistry, physics, technology, and the humanities. Since 1948, MPI
researchers have won 17 Nobel prizes, which testifies to the quality
and innovation of MPI research programs.

The IMPRS-CS (International Max Planck Research School for Computer
Science) offers a Ph.D. program upon successful completion of which
students receive a Doctorate Degree in Computer Science from Saarland
University. The Ph.D. program is supplemented by a Master's program
for students entering the school with a Bachelor's degree.

During the two to three years period of the Ph.D. program, the
candidates carry out their scientific research within the two
participating MPIs or in one of the research groups of the Computer
Science faculty members at Saarland University.

The Master's program comprises a 1 ½-year (three semesters) teaching
program with lectures and seminars. This serves as preparation and
qualification for the Ph.D. program. The Master's program includes a
thesis project and is completed with a Master of Computer Science
degree.

The IMPRS-CS awards the students financial support in the form of a
scholarship for their participation in the Master's and Ph.D.
programs.

Ph.D. scholarships:
Any student with an excellent Master's or Diploma Degree in Computer
Science or Computer Engineering may apply for our Ph.D. program. In
addition, students holding a Bachelor's degree from a 4-year program
at a research-oriented institution and who have shown outstanding
performance (demonstrated, for example, by refereed publications) are
also eligible.

Master's scholarships:
Any student with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer
Engineering is eligible to apply for our Master's program.

The IMPRS-CS holds a funding agreement with Microsoft Research
Cambridge (MSRC), which contributes 15 Ph.D. fellowships in research
areas related to MSRC. Recipients of these fellowships have the
opportunity for internships at MSRC and other collaboration with a
world-leading industrial research lab.
